"View From Here" (2026)

Painted one of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs. I hiked the top of this hill on an especially hot day (like, almost 90 degrees) and I distinctly remember being blown away that it was enjoyable weather even at that heat. The dryness and wind and elevation has done wonders for my health all around and I could have cried right there at the top of that hill. My nervous system has been so conditioned to hate summer from a lifetime in Texas, that I couldn’t believe how good it could feel. So, I took some photos and came home and painted it.
